Welcome to DESIGN SEED!

Interface House is a remodelling project that explores how outdoor living can remain open yet protected within the realities of Malaysia’s tropical climate.

Rather than extending the existing zero-lot bungalow directly, a new freestanding concrete structure is positioned 600mm apart, allowing the space between old and new to become an architectural interface — mediating light, air, and daily life.

The double-height hall, defined by off-form concrete walls and a curved concrete roof, houses the dining and kitchen as the social heart of the home. Large pivoting aluminium glass panels allow the space to shift between interior and exterior, adapting to changing weather conditions while maintaining continuity with the garden.
