Welcome to DESIGN SEED!
What if a small gap could completely transform the way a home works?
From the street, this modern Malaysian home appears solid and composed. But hidden within is a radical idea — a 600mm gap that separates a new extension from the original house, redefining privacy, ventilation, and indoor–outdoor living.
Built on a zero-lot plot, the Interface House was transformed from a 20 year old house to this stunning structure. This unique house challenges conventional home extensions by introducing a detached structure that brings in natural light, improves cross ventilation, and creates a seamless relationship between interior and exterior spaces. With double-volume pivot doors, a floating workspace, a curved column-free roof inspired by paper, and spaces designed for tropical living, this home proposes a new way of experiencing everyday life.
Join us as we explore how thoughtful architecture transforms limitations into opportunities, rethinking space, climate, and modern family living in the Malaysian context.
