If you're considering relocating to Singapore, you're in the right place. In this video, I'll cover seven things that I chatted over with a couple of friends.
1. Efficient Travel: Singapore is a small country, which makes getting around a breeze. Public transport is highly efficient, with regular bus and train services that connect you seamlessly throughout the city. For quicker travel, consider ride-sharing services like Grab or Gojek.
2. Renting: Renting a property in Singapore? Make sure to work with a licensed real estate agent to avoid scams. Some deals may seem too good to be true, so be cautious. Prices have increased over the past few years, so choose a unit within your budget.
3. Buying Property:Foreigners buying property may be subject to the Additional Buyer's Stamp Duty (ABSD), which is currently at 60%. There are exceptions for residents of Free Trade Agreement (FTA) countries.
4. Food Variety: Singapore is a multicultural hub with a diverse culinary scene. From hawker centres to restaurants, you'll find an array of cuisines to explore.
5. Weather: Singapore is known for its warm climate, with occasional rainy seasons. Stay hydrated, especially on hot days.
6. Green Spaces: Contrary to the myth that Singapore is all buildings, the city boasts numerous parks and green spaces. The government is actively promoting green initiatives, even integrating gardens into buildings.
7. Safety: Safety is a top priority in Singapore. The city is well-lit with CCTV cameras, making it one of the safest places to walk around, even late at night.
