In this episode of Design Seed, we explore the transformation of an old, forgotten house into a serene lakeside sanctuary in Aranya, China. Nestled near Guangzhou, this minimalist home balances city living with a nature-infused retreat, blurring the boundaries between architecture, landscape, and daily life.

Designed as a modern lakeside retreat, the home unfolds around water, light, and greenery. A tranquil tea pavilion opens directly to the lake, while a swimming pool visually merges with the horizon. Inside, a dramatic double-height living room with floor-to-ceiling windows turns the surrounding lake and mountains into living artworks. Thoughtful spatial planning, circular circulation, and generous light wells transform previously dark interiors into calm, breathable spaces.
