In this week's episode, we visit the home of Andra Matin, one of Indonesia's most influential architects, who designed his own family home after decades of architectural practice. Located in Bintaro, South Jakarta, the house reflects years of thinking about tropical architecture, family life and the relationship between buildings and their surroundings. Rather than beginning with drawings, the home took shape directly on site, allowing each space to evolve through experience and intuition.

Influenced by Indonesian context and his admiration for Japanese ways of living, the home is organised as a sequence of changing experiences, from the quiet arrival through a koi pond and library to open living spaces surrounded by trees and water. More than a family home, it has become Andra Matin's own laboratory, where everyday life continues to shape the way he understands architecture, nature and the tropical climate.
