A tropical-themed haven in Singapore

Designed as a serene retreat for retirement in mind, this tropical-inspired condo in Meyer road stands out with its warm materials, raw finishes, and thoughtful flow. Our client sought something unique, distinct from the typical styles found in Singapore, and we delivered a tropical luxury theme that evokes a serene escape from city life. The living and dining areas are layered with subtle luxury. The wallpaper used is the very same found in Chanel showrooms, lending a refined, surfaced elegance to the space. The TV cabinet is wrapped in a textured 3D Formica laminate, giving it a bronzy sheen that glows under soft lighting. To unify the room, even the ceiling was included. We used a special effect gold paint to extend the palette and add quiet depth.

One of the most interesting features of this unit is its rare layout, it comes with two balconies. By treating the connected balcony as a direct extension of the living room, we enhanced the sense of openness. The ceiling decking here is crafted from high-end timber to continue the flow of woody tones across the spaces, making the transition from indoor to outdoor feel seamless.

Moving into the study area, the design language remains consistent but takes on a more vibrant tropical personality. Open shelves were intentionally styled to display curated pieces with purposefully spray-painted rattan in the tones teal and orange. These bold, nature-inspired tones bring life into the study without overwhelming the space. The area itself is designed to be flexible, with the option of partially opening it up to the living area for a sense of connection or closing it off for privacy and focus.

Meanwhile, the bedrooms echo this tropical narrative with thoughtful material play and colour balance. The daughter’s room, in particular, is a standout. The wallpaper here is a special indent from Japan, completely handmade, piece by piece. The texture and craftsmanship bring a quiet richness to the room, and it’s a reminder that texture in design isn’t just about touch, it brings emotional depth and visual nuance to a home.
