Long before HDB, the Singapore Improvement Trust (SIT) were the ones behind our public housing.
They were responsible for the rare landed terrace houses at Stirling Road, the early blocks of Queenstown, and most notably Tiong Bahru’s iconic Art Deco curves. Even 8 decades later, those blocks still look as good as ever, and are highly sought after. It’s proof that good design really is timeless.
Which vintage HDB design do you think has aged the best?
