What Is the Future of YouTube? Reflections from 2007 to Today
In this video, I reflect on the future of YouTube in an era where digital technology is evolving rapidly—where creating videos is as easy as giving prompts to a computer. But as these tools become more advanced, I can't help but wonder: are we losing something important?
I share a personal memory from 2007—the very first YouTube video I ever watched. It was a simple clip of a person in Japan, standing in their bedroom and showing a small toy giraffe to the camera, with a view of the port behind them. I didn’t understand the language, but I felt the human connection. That moment was more real and captivating than anything I was seeing on TV or in movies at the time. It made me realize the true power of YouTube: bringing people together through honest, human moments.
Now, with the rise of AI-generated content and corporate influence, I’m concerned that the soul of YouTube—its human connection—is fading.
I’d love to hear your thoughts.
