In California, an edited listing photo now has to say so. Law AB 723, enacted on 10 October 2025 and in force from 1 January 2026, requires a statement that an image has been altered, plus a link, web address or QR code to the original, unaltered image. Routine edits such as lighting, sharpening, colour correction, straightening, cropping and exposure are still allowed. This is a US rule and does not apply in Singapore.
